Hullabaloo: The Heart of Clematis Street Dining

Hullabaloo sits at 517 Clematis Street — the heart of WPB's most active dining and nightlife corridor — and has been owned by restaurateur Rodney Mayo, one of South Florida's most experienced independent operators, for over a decade. The space channels New York City loft meets Little Italy: red and black leather, black and white photos of rock icons, marble-top tables, metal chairs, and a kitchen you can watch. Outside, a vintage Airstream camper on the patio functions as an intimate dining room on cooler evenings — one of the more distinctive design moves in WPB's restaurant scene.

The menu is Italian gastropub — which in Hullabaloo's hands means wood-fired cooking from a central stove, serious attention to the pasta program, and the kind of bar snacks that make the happy hour genuinely worth showing up for. Signature dishes include the chicken meatballs (rich, properly textured, the kind you order twice), gnocchi Bolognese, and the roasted pork with porcini mushroom risotto. The Hullabaloo Burger — Gorgonzola, bacon, shallots, red pepper aioli, served with zucchini chips — is one of the better burgers in downtown WPB. The bread pudding, made with day-old hallah or brioche with banana, walnut, chocolate, and mascarpone, is worth saving room for.

Happy hour runs daily from 4 to 7pm — craft cocktails, beer, wine, and select appetizers at prices that make it easy to turn a drink into dinner. The music skews toward local jazz bands rather than the generic playlist that fills most restaurant dining rooms, which sets the tone for the kind of evening Hullabaloo actually delivers: relaxed, adult, and unhurried.

Hours run Monday through Thursday 4pm to 1am, Friday and Saturday until 3am, and Sunday with a brunch/dinner service starting at 11am.
